On a DirectAdmin reseller plan you work in DirectAdmin at reseller level and your clients get DirectAdmin; there is no limit on the number of client accounts. On a cPanel reseller plan you work in WHM and each client gets cPanel; each plan includes a fixed number of cPanel accounts. Every account you create must fit inside your plan's disk and bandwidth.

2. Your first steps
- Open your reseller panel.In the client area, open your hosting services and click the panel button on your reseller service. Your username, server IP, panel URL and a Reset password button are on the service's Manage › Access tab.
- Secure the login.Your reseller login controls every client account. Use a long, unique password and never share it with clients.
- Create packages.A package is a named set of limits: disk, bandwidth, domains, email accounts and databases. Make two or three, such as Basic, Business and Pro. Leave shell (SSH) access off; jailed SSH is enabled per account on request.
- Create your first client account.Enter the client's domain, a username, their email and a strong password, and choose a package. Send the client their own login, never yours.
- Point the domain at the server.The client's domain needs your nameservers, or an A record for the server IP, before the website, email and free SSL work. See how do I change my nameservers.
If the packages you sell add up to more disk than your plan has, one busy client can fill it and stop every other site from saving files or receiving mail. Keep a margin, check usage regularly, and upgrade before you run out.
3. Branding and billing

4. What every client account gets
Free SSL certificates, CloudLinux account isolation, Imunify360 security and a server firewall, Softaculous one-click installs, and weekly JetBackup 5 backups (Sundays, five copies kept) that clients can restore or download in their own panel. There are no hourly backups and no wildcard SSL on any reseller plan. Outgoing mail limits for reseller accounts vary, so ask support before you host newsletter-heavy clients.
