A courier, transport or delivery business needs a website that does three things well: explain your services and coverage, collect quote and pickup requests, and look trustworthy on a phone. This guide shows how to choose the theme, import the demo on shared hosting without it failing, and turn it into a working courier website.
Start with a free, well-maintained theme that has a starter-site library, such as Astra, Kadence, Blocksy, Neve or GeneratePress, and import a logistics or transport demo. Before importing, set PHP's memory and input limits in your control panel, and retry in parts if the import times out. Then add a quote form, WhatsApp and call buttons, service and coverage pages, and a page-caching plugin. Buy a paid theme only for a specific feature you need, and never use a nulled one.
1. Decide what the site must do
Write this list before you look at a single theme. It tells you which demo fits and stops you choosing on looks alone.

Gather your logo, brand colours, real photos of your vehicles and staff, and the text for each service before you start.
2. Set a budget rule: free first, one-time if needed
Free themes from the WordPress.org directory are enough for most courier sites. Their paid "Pro" add-ons are usually yearly subscriptions, and many starter templates in their libraries are marked as premium, so check the label before you fall for a demo.
If you consider a marketplace theme, check the licence (how long updates last), the last update date (recent, and tested with PHP 8.x), that it imports the exact logistics demo you saw, and how its bundled plugins are updated.

3. Shortlist themes with logistics demos
These free themes are actively developed, lightweight and have starter-site libraries that include business, transport or logistics designs. Search each library for "logistics", "transport", "courier", "moving" or "delivery".

4. Install WordPress and prepare your hosting
On Domain India shared hosting, install WordPress from your control panel: Softaculous or WP Toolkit on cPanel, and Softaculous on DirectAdmin. The WordPress step-by-step guide covers the installation.
Demo imports are the heaviest thing a new site does, so prepare PHP first:
- Use a current PHP version.cPanel offers PHP up to 8.5 and uses 8.3 by default, which suits current themes. Check the theme's stated requirement.
- Raise PHP limits for the import.In cPanel, open MultiPHP INI Editor and set, for example,
memory_limitto 256M andmax_input_varsto 3000. Do not addphp_valuelines to.htaccess: on our servers PHP does not run as an Apache module, and those lines cause a 500 error. - Know the upload limit.PHP accepts uploads of up to 256 MB on cPanel and 64 MB on DirectAdmin, which covers theme and plugin zip files.
On our cPanel servers, a request that runs longer than about 90 seconds is cut off with a 504 error, however high you set max_execution_time. On DirectAdmin, PHP's own default limit is 30 seconds. If an import stops, run it again: most importers skip what already exists. If it keeps failing, import in parts (content, then customizer settings, then widgets) or untick the option to download demo images and add your own photos instead.
5. Import the demo
- Install and activate the themefrom Appearance › Themes › Add New (or Upload Theme for a marketplace zip).
- Install the theme's starter-site pluginwhen the theme prompts you.
- Choose the logistics or transport demoand the builder you picked in section 3.
- Import it on a fresh site.Importing onto a site with existing content mixes the two; if you must, take a backup first.

- Service pages: one page per service with what is included, weight and size limits, typical timelines and the questions customers ask.
- Quote form: pickup and drop pincodes, weight, dimensions, pickup date, name and phone. Keep it short; you can ask for details on the phone.
- Tracking: link to your tracking system, or use a simple form that sends the AWB number to your team.
- Clean up: replace all demo text, contact details and placeholder images.
7. Make sure form emails arrive
Contact and quote forms are useless if the email never reaches you. On our cPanel servers, WordPress SMTP plugins cannot open a direct SMTP connection, because the PHP socket functions they need are disabled. Use WordPress's own mail with the From address set to a real mailbox on your domain and DKIM set up, or a mail plugin's HTTPS API mailer. On DirectAdmin, test SMTP on your plan first. Add spam protection to every form (a CAPTCHA or a honeypot field), and set the visitor's email as Reply-To, not as From.
8. Speed, SEO and launch checks
- Images: export photos as WebP, sized to how they display, and keep most under 200 KB.
- Caching: Domain India shared hosting runs the Apache web server, so use WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache for page caching. LiteSpeed Cache's page cache does not work here. Compression is already handled by the server, so you need no extra plugin for it. See Optimizing WordPress.
- HTTPS: free SSL is included; make sure both WordPress addresses under Settings › General start with
https://. - Local SEO: use an SEO plugin such as Yoast or Rank Math, add LocalBusiness details, keep your name, address and phone identical everywhere, create a Google Business Profile, and submit your sitemap in Google Search Console.
Before you share the link, send a test quote, tap every button on a phone, check there are no broken links, and take a backup.

Which free WordPress theme is best for a courier or logistics website?
