4. How to import a starter site safely
- Start from a fresh WordPress install.Install WordPress from your control panel. Importing over a site that already has content can replace its menus, widgets and settings.
- Take a backup.Even on a new site, a backup lets you start again cleanly if the import goes wrong.
- Install the theme.In WordPress go to Appearance › Themes › Add New Theme, search for the theme, then click Install and Activate.
- Install the theme's importer.Most themes show a notice offering their starter-site plugin after activation. You can also install it from Plugins › Add New Plugin using the names in the table above.
- Choose and import a design.Filter by industry, preview the design, and check whether it is free or marked Pro. Import the full site, or a single page if you only need a layout.
- Clean up.Replace sample text and images, delete demo posts you don't need, and deactivate and delete plugins the import added that you won't use.
Demo images are there to show the layout. Their licence may not allow you to keep them on a business website, and they make your site look like hundreds of others. Replace them with your own photos or images you have the right to use.
5. Make the imported site fast
Starter sites are often heavier than they need to be. Remove sliders and add-ons you don't use, compress images before uploading them, and test on a phone over mobile data. Domain India shared hosting runs the Apache web server, so for caching use WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache.

6. Free, premium and "nulled" templates
Many libraries mix free designs with premium ones that need the theme's paid plan or a page builder's Pro licence. The importer usually labels them. Buy a premium theme or kit only from the developer.

7. If the import stops or fails on shared hosting
- The import stops partway or shows a 504 error. On Domain India cPanel servers a request that runs longer than about 90 seconds returns a 504, and raising PHP's time limit does not change that. - A theme or kit ZIP won't upload. The PHP upload limit is 256 MB on cPanel and 64 MB on DirectAdmin. Upload the theme file itself, not the whole download package.
