An email address at your own domain, such as [email protected], tells customers they are dealing with a real business. Domain India offers it in two ways: mailboxes included with a web hosting plan, and Business Email, a separate mail service priced per mailbox. This guide explains what each one includes, what it costs and which one fits you.
If you have, or need, a website on shared hosting, email accounts are already included: from 5 to 250 depending on the plan, with webmail, IMAP, POP3 and SMTP. If you want mail that runs separately from your website, with calendar and contacts, choose Business Email at ₹60 per mailbox per month, starting with one mailbox. There are no separate "Starter", "Business" or "Enterprise" email tiers. Prices are Domain India list prices on 19 September 2026, excluding 18% GST.

2. Email included with your hosting plan
Every Domain India shared hosting plan includes email accounts at your domain. The number depends on the plan (Domain India catalogue, 19 September 2026):

What you get with hosting email:
- Mail apps: IMAP on port 993, POP3 on 995 and SMTP on 465 (or 587 with STARTTLS on Linux hosting), all over SSL/TLS. See email client settings.

- Panel tools: forwarders, autoresponders and filters, managed in your control panel.
- Security: DKIM signing is on by default for new cPanel accounts, and the cPanel mail server uses greylisting and the Spamhaus and SpamCop blocklists against spam.

On cPanel a new mailbox gets 1,024 MB by default, which you can change when you create it. Mailboxes share your plan's storage with your website, and more accounts come with a bigger plan. See upgrading your hosting package.
Windows hosting also includes mailboxes (10 to 100, by plan), with MailEnable webmail at webmail.yourdomain.com. Port 587 is closed there, so mail apps send on 465 with SSL/TLS. See creating email in Plesk.
3. Business Email
Business Email is a dedicated mail service, not a side feature of a web server. It suits businesses that want email to keep working whatever happens to the website, or that have no website on shared hosting at all, for example a site built with the AI Website Builder, which includes no mailboxes.

- Pricing is per mailbox. ₹60 per mailbox per month, starting with one. Aliases such as
info@delivered into an existing mailbox are not billed as extra mailboxes. - Adding mailboxes beyond the number you bought is done by support: open a ticket and they add them to your service.
- IMAP only. There is no POP3 and no Exchange ActiveSync.
- No storage tiers. We don't sell mailboxes by gigabytes, so there is no quota to pick.
- Not an office suite. There are no documents, spreadsheets or video meetings. If you need those, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 are the right products.
- The mail servers are in the EU, not in India. If you have a data-residency requirement, ask before you buy.

4. Which one should you choose?
- You already have, or need, a website on shared hosting
- A handful of addresses for yourself and a small team is enough
- You use POP3, or want mail managed in the same panel as your site
- Email must keep working even if the website has a problem
- You want calendar and contacts synced across devices
- Your website is on the AI Website Builder, the App Platform or another provider

5. Why not a free address?
A free Gmail or Outlook.com address costs nothing, but [email protected] looks less trustworthy on an invoice, and the address is not yours if you stop using that provider. With your own domain, the address stays yours whichever service you use. See email hosting vs free email.

No. Business Email supports IMAP and SMTP only. IMAP keeps your mail on the server, so every device and webmail show the same mailbox. Email included with hosting does support POP3.
How much storage does a Business Email mailbox have?
Business Email is not sold by storage size, so there is no quota to choose or manage. It is priced per mailbox only.
Can I add more Business Email mailboxes later?
Yes. Within the number of mailboxes you bought, you create them yourself in the admin console. To increase the number you pay for, open a support ticket and they are added to your service.
Do I need a domain name for email hosting?
Yes. Both options give you addresses at your own domain, so you need a registered domain. You can register one with Domain India or use one you already own.
Where are Domain India's Business Email servers?
In the EU, not in India. If your organisation has a data-residency requirement, ask support before you buy.
