Every Domain India Windows hosting plan includes email on your own domain, managed from the Plesk control panel. This guide shows how to create a mailbox in Plesk, sign in to webmail, connect a mail app with the right ports, and fix the problems people meet most often.
In Plesk, open Mail and click Create Email Address, then set the address, a strong password and the mailbox size. Read mail in the browser at https://webmail.yourdomain.com, or connect a mail app to mail.yourdomain.com with IMAP on port 993 and SMTP on port 465, both with SSL/TLS, using the full email address as the username. Port 587 is closed on Windows hosting, so always use 465 for sending.
1. Before you start
You need three things:
- Your Plesk login. In the client area, go to Hosting › My hosting and click the Plesk button on your domain's row. If you prefer to sign in directly, open Manage, then the Access tab, for your username, server IP and panel URL. Plesk runs on port 8443. See how to log in to Plesk.
- Your domain pointing at the hosting. Mail for
[email protected]only reaches Plesk if the domain uses your hosting nameservers, or its MX record points at your hosting. See how to change your nameservers. - A free mailbox slot. Each Windows plan has a mailbox allowance: 10 on ASP Starter, 50 on ASP Business and 100 on ASP Enterprise.

2. Create an email address in Plesk
- Open Mail.Log in to Plesk and click Mail in the left menu. If you host more than one domain, pick the domain the address belongs to.
- Start a new address.Click Create Email Address.
- Enter the name.Type the part before the @, such as
info,salesorpriya. - Set a password.Type a long, unique password, or use Generate and save it in a password manager. This is the mailbox password your mail apps will use.
- Choose the mailbox size.Leave the default or set a size. Mail counts towards your plan's storage, so a size limit stops one mailbox filling the account.
- Save.Click OK. The address works straight away.
Menu names can shift slightly between Plesk updates. If you can't find an option, open a ticket and we will point you to it.
3. Sign in to webmail
Webmail on Windows hosting opens at https://webmail.yourdomain.com, with your own domain in place of yourdomain.com. Log in with the full email address and the mailbox password.
On many Windows hosting accounts the webmail address still uses Plesk's default certificate, so the browser warns that the connection is not private. The fix is to include webmail in your free Let's Encrypt certificate: in Plesk, open SSL/TLS Certificates for the domain and tick the webmail option when you install or reissue it. 4. Settings for Outlook, phones and other mail apps
Use IMAP, so the same mail appears on every device. These are the settings for Windows (Plesk) hosting mailboxes:

We tested the Windows mail servers from outside: ports 993, 995 and 465 are open, and port 587 is closed. Many older guides and some apps default to 587 with STARTTLS; on Windows hosting that will time out. Use 465 with SSL/TLS for sending.
Ports 143 and 110 are also open, but they send your password unencrypted, so avoid them. For step-by-step screens in Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, iPhone and Android, follow email client settings for popular email clients.
If your app warns about the certificate for mail.yourdomain.com, the mail server is presenting a certificate for a different name. Securing mail with Let's Encrypt in Plesk fixes it on accounts where the domain's certificate covers mail; otherwise ask support which server name to use.
5. Manage your mailboxes
Click the address in Plesk's Mail list to change it:
- Change the password. Enter a new password and click OK. Update it in every mail app afterwards.
- Change the mailbox size. Adjust the size and save.
- Auto-reply. Use the Auto-Reply tab for out-of-office messages.
- Forwarding and aliases. See email forwarding in Plesk.
- Delete a mailbox. Tick it in the Mail list and remove it. Its stored mail is deleted too, so download anything you need first.
6. DNS records that make mail work
When your domain uses the hosting nameservers, Plesk creates the mail records for you. On Windows-hosted domains we checked, the zone already had an MX record, an SPF record, a DKIM key at default._domainkey and a DMARC record.

If your DNS is hosted somewhere else, such as Cloudflare, copy these records from Plesk's DNS settings for the domain into that provider. If you also send as your domain through another service, add it to your SPF record, or that mail may be rejected. Background: SPF, DKIM and DMARC explained.
7. Troubleshooting
