Yes, you can host a friend's or a relative's website on your own Domain India hosting plan, as long as your plan allows more than one website. Their site then shares your account, your resources and your responsibility. This guide explains how many sites each plan allows, what our terms say, how to set a friend's site up cleanly, and when a reseller plan is the better route.
You can host friends' websites as extra websites on your plan: 5 on cPanel Growth, DA Growth and Webuzo Developer, 25 on cPanel Business and DA Business, and 50 on Webuzo Agency. Starter plans host one website. Everything on the account counts towards your limits, and you are responsible for all activity on it, including your friends' sites. If you plan to charge people for hosting, or they need their own control panel, use reseller hosting instead: our Acceptable Use Policy prohibits unauthorized reselling.
1. How many websites your plan can hold
These are the website counts in the Domain India catalogue on 19 September 2026:
| Plan | Websites | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| cPanel Starter | 1 | 25 GB NVMe |
| cPanel Growth | 5 | 50 GB NVMe |
| cPanel Business | 25 | 100 GB NVMe |
| DA Starter | 1 | 10 GB NVMe |
| DA Growth | 5 | 30 GB NVMe |
| DA Business | 25 | 100 GB NVMe |
| Webuzo Starter | 1 | 10 GB NVMe |
| Webuzo Developer | 5 | 30 GB NVMe |
| Webuzo Agency | 50 | 100 GB NVMe |
Your own website counts as one. On a 5-website plan you can host four other sites alongside yours. A friend's site that is only a subdomain, such as ravi.yourfamily.in, does not count as an extra website. For what counts and what doesn't, see am I allowed to host more than one domain.
2. What our terms say
Two published policies matter here. We quote only what they say.
- The Terms & Conditions say: "You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account." A friend's website on your account is activity under your account.
- The Acceptable Use Policy lists "Unauthorized reselling of services" among prohibited resource abuse, and states that violations "may result in immediate suspension or termination without notice or refund."
So hosting a few friends' sites for free on your own plan is a matter of your plan's limits. Charging people for hosting on an ordinary shared plan is reselling, and that needs a reseller plan.
If a friend's site sends spam, gets hacked and serves malware, or carries content the Acceptable Use Policy prohibits, action is taken on the account, and that is your account. Every website on it, including yours, can be affected. Host only people you trust, and make sure they keep their site updated.
3. What sharing one account means in practice
- The sites are small, such as a family blog, a friend's portfolio or a club page
- You are happy to manage their files, email and updates for them
- One bill and one control panel login suits everyone
- All sites share one set of disk, email accounts, databases, CPU and memory
- A traffic spike or heavy plugin on one site slows the others
- A hacked site sits in the same account as your files
- Your friend can't log in to the control panel without seeing everything
The database and mailbox counts are shared too. On a Growth plan, the 10 MySQL databases are for all five websites together, not ten each.
4. Set up a friend's website the clean way
- Let them own their domain.Your friend should register the domain in their own name, so it stays theirs whatever happens to your hosting. They can register it with us or anywhere else.
- Add it as a separate website. In cPanel open Domains › Create A New Domain, enter their domain, and untick Share document root so it gets its own folder.
- Point their domain at your hosting. They set the hosting nameservers, or A records, from the Point a domain to this hosting card on your hosting service in the client area. See how do I change my nameservers. The free SSL certificate is issued once the DNS points to the server.
- Give them their own FTP login, not yours. In cPanel, create an FTP account whose directory is their site's folder, so they can upload files without seeing the rest of your account.
- Create their mailboxes on their domain, such as [email protected]. They count towards your plan's email account limit.
- Install their site separately. If it is WordPress, install it into their folder with its own database and database user, never sharing yours.

On DirectAdmin and Webuzo the steps are similar: add the domain to the account, then create FTP and email accounts for it. In DirectAdmin, use Account Manager › Domains, Account Manager › FTP Management and E-mail Manager › E-mail Accounts. In Webuzo, use Domain › Add Addon Domain, the FTP menu and Email › Email Account.
Your cPanel login controls every site, mailbox and database on the account, and your client-area login controls billing. Give friends an FTP account or a WordPress admin user for their own site only.
5. When a reseller plan is the right route
If your friends want their own control panel, or you want to charge for hosting, reseller hosting is designed for it:
- Separate accounts. Each person gets their own control panel account with its own login, limits, email and databases. A problem on one account doesn't expose the others' files.
- Your own brand. Reseller plans are white-label: you can use your own brand and private nameservers, and set your own prices and packages.
- Clear responsibility. Each site owner has their own login, and you manage the accounts from the reseller panel.
Reseller plans come with cPanel/WHM or DirectAdmin; the number of accounts depends on the plan. See reseller hosting for current plans and prices, and getting started with reseller hosting. Reseller hosting has a full refund within 30 days of purchase for new purchases.
6. Other options
- Your friend buys their own plan. Often the simplest. A Starter plan gives them their own account, login and support, and you can still help them set it up.
- An AI Website Builder plan with several sites. If your friends want simple sites without hosting work, the AI Website Builder Pro plan includes 5 websites and Business includes 15.
- Grow your own plan. If you outgrow your website count, upgrade the same account: you pay only the difference for the time left until your renewal date. See can I upgrade my web hosting package at any time.
7. Where Domain India fits
For a handful of friends' sites alongside your own, a Growth plan is the natural choice: 5 websites in one account. Prices on the cards are live, per month, and exclude 18% GST.
- 50 GB NVMe SSD Storage
- 100 GB Monthly Bandwidth
- 5 Websites
- 50 Email Accounts
- 30 GB NVMe SSD Storage
- Unmetered Bandwidth
- 5 Websites
- 50 Email Accounts

Frequently asked questions
Can I host my friend's website on my Domain India hosting plan?
Yes, if your plan allows more than one website. cPanel Growth, DA Growth and Webuzo Developer host 5 websites, cPanel Business and DA Business 25, and Webuzo Agency 50. Starter plans host one website, which is your own.
Can I charge my friends for hosting their websites on my plan?
Not on an ordinary shared plan. Domain India's Acceptable Use Policy prohibits unauthorized reselling of services. If you want to charge for hosting, use a reseller hosting plan, which is designed for it.
Who is responsible if my friend's website sends spam or gets hacked?
You are. The Terms & Conditions say the account holder is responsible for all activities under the account, and action on an abuse problem is taken on the whole account, which can affect every website on it.
Can my friend have their own control panel login?
Not on a shared plan, where one control panel login controls every site. You can give them an FTP account limited to their folder and an admin login for their own website. For separate control panels, use reseller hosting.
Do my friend's email accounts count towards my plan?
Yes. Mailboxes on every domain in the account count towards your plan's email account limit, and the same applies to MySQL databases and disk space.
Should my friend's domain be registered in my name?
No. Your friend should register the domain in their own name so it stays theirs. They only need to point it at your hosting with nameservers or A records.
Ready to add a friend's site? Open your hosting services to reach your control panel, compare cPanel hosting and DirectAdmin hosting for more websites, or look at reseller hosting if you want separate accounts.
Give every site owner their own control panel, under your own brand and at your own prices.
