Domain India gives you two ways to reach support: live chat for quick answers and support tickets for anything that needs investigation. Both are available around the clock. This guide explains when to use each, how to open and follow a ticket, and how to keep your account safe while you get help.

Key takeaways

Use live chat (24/7, the chat icon on every page) for quick questions and guidance. Use a support ticket for anything that needs investigation, a change to your account or a written record: open one at /client/support/new when logged in, or at /support/ticket without logging in. Tickets get a first response within 15 minutes. There is no phone support, and a ticket, not an email, is the way to reach us.

1. The two channels at a glance

ChannelHow to reach itBest forWhat to expect
Live chatThe chat icon on any page of domainindia.comQuick questions, account lookups, where to find a setting, simple troubleshooting24/7, an answer straight away
Support ticket/client/support/new (logged in) or /support/ticketTechnical problems, billing and refunds, account and DNS changes, anything that takes more than one reply24/7, first response within 15 minutes; resolution depends on the issue

Domain India does not offer phone support, and email to a support address is not a support channel. Open a ticket instead, so your request is logged, routed to the right team and tracked.

2. Live chat

Best for: quick "how do I" questions, checking something on your account, finding a setting, pre-sales questions about plans, and simple troubleshooting.

How to use it: click the chat icon on any page of the Domain India website. General questions need no login; for questions about your own domains, hosting or invoices, log in first so your account can be checked.

What it is not for: jobs that need a server investigation or a change made by our team. If the chat turns out to need that, it can be moved into a support ticket so nothing is lost and you can follow it up.

3. Support tickets

Best for: website or email problems, server and DNS changes, billing disputes and refund requests, account verification, and anything you want a written record of.

  1. Open the ticket.
Logged in, go to /client/support/new. Not logged in, use /support/ticket.
  2. Pick the department.
Choose Technical Support, Billing, Sales or General Inquiry.
  3. Write a clear subject.
Include the domain name and the problem, for example "example.in: 500 error on checkout page".
  4. Give the details.
Paste the exact error message, say when it started and what you have already tried. Add a screenshot if you can.
  5. Follow it up in one place.
Logged in, your tickets and replies are under Support in the client area; otherwise use /support/ticket/track. Reply on the same ticket rather than opening a new one for the same issue.

Every ticket gets a first response within 15 minutes. How long the fix takes depends on the issue; see support response times. If you are new to tickets, what is a support ticket system explains how they work.

4. Which channel for which situation

5. Keep your account safe while you get help

Support will never ask for your password

Never share a password, a private SSH key, a one-time code or card details in chat or a ticket. Domain India support does not need them and will never ask. If someone claiming to be support asks, stop and contact us through the website.

  • Use official channels only. Contact us through live chat on domainindia.com or a ticket on domainindia.com. Treat any other route that claims to be Domain India support with caution.
  • Expect identity checks. For security-sensitive changes, such as a change of account email or ownership, we may ask you to confirm from your registered account.
  • Share public keys only. If support needs to add an SSH key for you, send the public key (the file ending in .pub), never the private one.

6. If your issue is not resolved

  1. Reply on your ticket and ask for it to be escalated. Keep the ticket number handy; it is shown on the ticket.
  2. Mention the ticket number if you contact us on live chat about the same issue, so the chat can pick up the existing history.
  3. Add anything new you have noticed, such as a changed error message or the time it happened, on the same ticket.
