To renew a domain name at Domain India, open the domain in the client area, click Renew, choose how many years to add and pay; or simply pay the renewal invoice we email you before the due date. The domain is renewed only once that payment is received. This page is the quick how-to; the full renewal guide is linked below.

Renewal invoices, the renewal switch, prices and declining a renewal are covered in detail in Domain renewal and How auto-renewal works. If your domain has already stopped working, start with What happens when your domain expires.
Sign in, open your domains, click the domain, click Renew, choose the number of years and click Proceed to payment. Domain India never charges a saved card: a renewal invoice is emailed up to 30 days before expiry, and the domain renews only when it is paid. A .in domain can still be renewed at the normal price up to day 36 after expiry; from day 37 it can only be restored, for ₹4,000 including GST and the renewal.
1. Renew from the domain's page
You don't have to wait for the invoice.
- Sign inand open your domains.
- Click the domainyou want to renew.
- Click Renew.A panel opens showing the current expiry date.
- Choose the renewal period.Select how many years to add. The new years are added to the current expiry date, so renewing early loses no time.
- Click Proceed to paymentand pay with any method shown at checkout.
Once the payment is recorded, the expiry date moves forward.
2. Or pay the renewal invoice
Before a domain is due, a renewal invoice is generated, currently up to 30 days ahead, and emailed to the address on your account. Open your invoices, find the invoice marked Payment Due (or Payment Overdue if the date has passed) and pay it. When it shows Payment Received, the renewal is done.
"Auto-renewal" at Domain India means this invoice is created and sent for you. Nothing is taken from your card automatically, and the domain is not renewed until the invoice is paid.
If the renewal invoice goes to an old email address or to spam and nobody pays it, the domain simply expires. Keep the email on your account current, and renew important domains for several years at once.
3. What renewal costs
Renewal is charged per year at the rate for the extension. Domain India list prices on 19 September 2026, excluding 18% GST:
| Extension | Renewal per year |
|---|---|
| .in | ₹625 |
| .co.in, .net.in, .org.in | ₹525 |
| .com | ₹1,150 |
A promotional first-year price applies to the first term only; your invoice always shows the current renewal rate. Other extensions are on the domain pricing page.
4. If the domain has already expired
An expired domain stops resolving on its expiry date, so your website and email stop straight away.
- .in family: renew at the normal price up to day 36 after expiry. From day 37 it can only be restored, for ₹4,000, which includes GST and the renewal.
- .com: renew at the normal price during its grace period. After that, restoring it costs ₹8,000, including GST and one year.
- Other extensions: the windows and fees vary, so ask support for your domain's exact dates.
If the Renew option is missing, open a ticket straight away with the domain name. Once the registry deletes a domain, anyone can register it.
5. If you don't want to renew
Open the Renewals page and decline the renewal, switch off renewal invoices on the domain's page, or leave the invoice unpaid. There is no penalty, and the domain keeps working until its expiry date. Domain registrations and renewals are non-refundable once processed, so decline before you pay.
