To renew a Domain India service, pay its renewal invoice from the client area. The invoice is emailed to you before the due date, and the service renews as soon as it is paid. Nothing is charged to a saved card automatically, so if you don't pay, the service doesn't renew.
How renewal invoices, the renewal switch and declining a renewal work is covered in How auto-renewal works at Domain India. For domain renewal prices and what happens after a domain expires, see Domain renewal.
Domain India never charges a saved card. A renewal invoice is generated up to 30 days before each service's due date and emailed to you; the service renews when you pay it from Invoices in the client area. Domains can also be renewed at any time from the domain's page, for as many years as you choose. Paying early loses no time, because the new period is added to the existing expiry date.
1. How renewal works
- Before the due date, a renewal invoice is generated, currently up to 30 days ahead, and emailed to the address on your account. Reminders follow while it is unpaid.
- When you pay, the service's next due date moves forward by the period you paid for.
- If you don't pay, nothing renews in the background. A lapsed hosting account is suspended, and a lapsed domain expires and stops working.
2. Pay a renewal invoice
- Sign inand open your invoices. Renewal invoices appear there automatically.
- Open the unpaid invoiceand check the service name, the period you are renewing and the amount, including GST.
- Paywith UPI, card, net banking or any other method offered at checkout.
- Check the service.Once payment is recorded, the next due date moves forward.
A renewal price is not always the first-year price: a promotional registration or sign-up rate applies to the first term only, and the invoice shows the current renewal rate.
3. Renew a domain early, or for several years
You don't have to wait for the invoice. Open your domains, click the domain, click Renew, choose how many years to add and click Proceed to payment. The new years are added to the current expiry date. Prices and the full steps are in Domain renewal.
4. See everything that is due
The Renewals page lists each service with its expiry date, price and renewal position. It is also where you choose Don't renew for a service you no longer want; declining a renewal before you pay carries no penalty.
5. If a service has already lapsed
| Service | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Suspended about a week after an unpaid due date, and it can be deleted after that | Pay the outstanding invoice straight away |
| .in domain | Stops working at expiry; normal renewal price up to day 36 after expiry | From day 37, restoration costs ₹4,000 including the renewal |
| .com domain | Stops working at expiry; normal renewal price during the grace period | After the grace period, restoration costs ₹8,000 including one year |
Restoration prices are Domain India list prices, excluding 18% GST. The grace period for .com and other generic extensions varies, so ask support for your domain's exact date. If a site or mailbox is still down a little while after you pay, open a ticket with the invoice number.
Keep the email address on your account current, check the spam folder in a renewal month, and renew your main domain for several years so one missed email cannot take your website and email offline.
6. Refunds on renewals
Renewals are non-refundable under our refund policy, and domain registrations and renewals cannot be reversed once processed at the registry. If you don't want to keep a service, decline the renewal or leave the invoice unpaid rather than paying and asking for a refund afterwards.
How do I renew my Domain India hosting or domain?
Sign in, open Invoices in the client area and pay the renewal invoice. Once payment is recorded, the service's next due date moves forward. A domain can also be renewed from its own page by clicking Renew.
Does Domain India charge my card automatically?
No. Domain India never charges a saved card. A renewal invoice is emailed before the due date, and the service renews only when that invoice is paid.
When is the renewal invoice sent?
Up to 30 days before the due date, emailed to the address on your account, with reminders while it is unpaid. It also appears under Invoices in the client area.
Do I lose time if I renew early?
No. The period you pay for is added to the existing expiry date, so renewing early costs nothing extra.
My hosting was suspended for non-payment. How do I get it back?
Pay the outstanding renewal invoice. If the site or email is still down a little while after payment, open a support ticket with the invoice number.
Can I get a refund on a renewal?
