WHM (Web Host Manager) is the control panel you use as a Domain India cPanel reseller: it is where you create hosting packages and cPanel accounts for your own clients. There are two ways in: one click from the client area, or directly on port 2087 with your reseller username and password. This guide covers both, how to reset the password, how to secure the login, and what to do when WHM will not open.
In the client area, open Hosting › Reseller hosting and click the WHM button on your reseller account; WHM opens in a new tab. To go in directly, open https://server-hostname:2087 and sign in with your reseller username (not your email address) and password. The username, server IP and panel address are on the account's Manage › Access tab, which also has Reset password. WHM is only for cPanel reseller plans: shared hosting accounts use cPanel, and DirectAdmin resellers use DirectAdmin.
1. Who has WHM
| Your plan | Panel you log in to | WHM? |
|---|---|---|
| cPanel reseller hosting | WHM for your clients, cPanel for your own sites | Yes |
| cPanel shared hosting | cPanel | No. Shared accounts cannot log in to WHM |
| DirectAdmin reseller hosting | DirectAdmin, at reseller level | No |
| Webuzo or Windows (Plesk) hosting | Webuzo or Plesk | No |
| VPS | No cPanel is offered on Domain India VPS | No |
If you have a shared cPanel plan, you want how to log in to cPanel instead.
2. Route 1: one click from the client area
This is the quickest way in, and you don't need to remember the WHM password.
- Sign into the client area with your Domain India account.
- Open Hosting › Reseller hosting. The page is titled Reseller Hosting and lists your reseller accounts.
- Click WHMon your account's row. WHM opens in a new tab. The button appears only while the account is Active.
- Or open the account first.Click Manage to see the account's details and its login button.
WHM opens in a new tab, so a pop-up blocker can stop it. Allow pop-ups for domainindia.com and click again. If you see the WHM login form instead of the dashboard, sign in as in Route 2.
3. Route 2: log in directly on port 2087
Use this to bookmark WHM or to sign in without the client area.
- Find your details. In the client area, open your reseller account, click Manage, then the Access tab. The Login details card shows your username, server IP and panel address, each with a copy button. They are also in your welcome email.
- Open WHM.Go to
https://server-hostname:2087, using the server hostname from the panel address. The panel address on the Access tab points at port 2083, which is your own cPanel; WHM is the same server on port 2087. - Sign inwith your reseller username and password, and click Log in.
Port 2087 is WHM over HTTPS. If you type http://server-hostname:2086, the server redirects you to 2087, so your password is never sent unencrypted. Use the server hostname rather than the IP address: the hostname has a valid certificate, while an IP address makes the browser show a security warning.
4. Reset a forgotten WHM password
You can do this yourself in the client area.
- Open the account.Go to Hosting › Reseller hosting and click Manage.
- Open the Access taband click Reset password.
- Confirm it is youwith your client-area password, then set the new password. Aim for a long, unique one.
- Sign in to WHMwith the new password.
Your client-area password and your WHM password are separate. Changing one never changes the other. The full password guide is how can I change my hosting account password.
5. Secure the reseller login
Your reseller login controls every client account under it, so protect it more carefully than an ordinary cPanel login.
- Turn on two-factor authentication in the client area under Account › Security, because the client area can open WHM with one click. See how to enable two-factor authentication.
- Turn on two-factor authentication in WHM if your WHM shows Two-Factor Authentication (under Security Center). Scan the QR code with an authenticator app and enter the code to confirm.
- Never share the WHM password with clients or developers. Give each client their own cPanel login from WHM.
- Sign in only at addresses you typed yourself. Never enter your WHM password on a page reached from a link in an email.
6. What you will see after logging in
WHM for a reseller is a limited version of the server administrator's WHM. You manage your own packages and client accounts; Domain India manages the server, including PHP versions, Apache and mail configuration, and SSL. There is no setup wizard to run and no server settings to configure. The menus you see depend on the privileges of your plan.
For your first steps, read configuring and managing cPanel/WHM reseller hosting. It covers creating packages and client accounts, suspensions, SSL and backups.
7. When WHM will not open
| What happens | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The page times out | Your office or public network blocks port 2087 | Try another network, such as mobile data. If WHM opens there, ask your network admin to allow the port |
| It worked yesterday and now times out everywhere | The server firewall blocked your IP after repeated failed logins | Open a ticket or chat with your public IP address |
| "The login is invalid" | Wrong username, or you typed your email address | Use the reseller username from the Access tab, or reset the password |
| The WHM button is missing | The account is not Active | Check for an unpaid invoice or a suspension under Billing |
| Security warning in the browser | You opened WHM by IP address | Use the server hostname instead |
Blocked IPs are explained in how clients can protect themselves from CSF blocks.
8. Domain India reseller hosting
Domain India sells cPanel reseller plans with WHM, and DirectAdmin reseller plans for resellers who prefer DirectAdmin. Both are white-label: your clients see your brand, not ours. Compare plans and current prices on the reseller hosting page. New reseller hosting purchases can be refunded in full within 30 days.
How do I log in to WHM on a Domain India reseller account?
Sign in to the client area, open Hosting, Reseller hosting, and click the WHM button on your account. Or go to https://server-hostname:2087 and sign in with your reseller username and password.
What is my WHM username?
Your reseller username, not your email address. It is on the Manage, Access tab of your reseller account in the client area, and in your welcome email.
How do I reset my WHM password?
In the client area, open your reseller account, click Manage, then Reset password on the Access tab. Confirm with your client-area password and set a new WHM password.
Can I log in to WHM with a shared cPanel hosting plan?
No. WHM is only available on cPanel reseller plans. Shared hosting accounts use cPanel on port 2083.
Which port does WHM use?
Port 2087, over HTTPS. Port 2086 redirects to 2087. Your own cPanel as a reseller is on port 2083.
Why can't I reach WHM from my office?
Some office and public networks block port 2087. Try another network. If WHM stopped opening from every network, the server firewall may have blocked your IP after failed logins; open a ticket with your public IP address.
Ready to sign in? Open your reseller accounts in the client area, or compare reseller hosting plans if you are starting out. If WHM still won't open, open a support ticket. Live chat is available 24/7, tickets get a first response within 15 minutes, and there is no phone support.
