How to Upgrade or Change Your Hosting Plan

{{COMPANY_NAME}} makes it easy to upgrade your hosting plan as your website grows. Upgrades are instant, with no downtime and no data loss.

When to Upgrade

Consider upgrading when:

  • Your website is running slow due to CPU, RAM, or I/O limits
  • You are running out of disk space for files, databases, or emails
  • You are hitting bandwidth limits from increased traffic
  • You need more email accounts, databases, or addon domains
  • You are seeing 503 errors from hitting entry process limits
  • Check Metrics → Resource Usage in cPanel to confirm resource limits are the cause

How to Upgrade

  1. Log in to your {{COMPANY_NAME}} client area
  2. Go to My Services
  3. Click on the hosting service you want to upgrade
  4. Click Upgrade/Downgrade in the sidebar or service actions
  5. Review the available plans — plans with more resources than your current plan are shown
  6. Select the new plan
  7. Review the prorated cost — you only pay the difference for the remaining billing period
  8. Complete payment
  9. Your account is upgraded instantly

What Happens During an Upgrade

  • No downtime — your website stays online
  • No data loss — all files, databases, emails, and settings are preserved
  • Resources increase immediately — new CPU, RAM, disk, and bandwidth limits apply right away
  • Billing adjusts — future renewals are at the new plan's rate

Downgrading Your Plan

Downgrading is possible if your current usage fits within the lower plan's limits:

  1. Follow the same steps as upgrading
  2. Select a lower-tier plan
  3. Ensure your current disk usage, databases, and email accounts do not exceed the lower plan's limits
  4. If usage exceeds the target plan, reduce usage first (delete files, databases, or email accounts)

Tips

  • To switch hosting types (e.g., cPanel to Plesk Windows), a migration is required — contact support
  • Use cPanel's Resource Usage to identify which resource you need more of before upgrading
  • All plans include free SSL, CloudLinux resource isolation, and SSH access
  • Contact {{COMPANY_NAME}} support at {{SUPPORT_URL}} for help choosing the right plan
