Backing up an ASP.NET website means copying three things: the published files in httpdocs, every database the site uses, and the settings that live outside your code. On Domain India Windows (Plesk) hosting you can do it with Plesk's Backup Manager where your panel offers it, or by hand on any plan.

Backups included with Domain India shared hosting, Windows included, are weekly, and there is no backup add-on to buy; to restore from them, open a ticket. For your own copies, use Backup Manager under Websites & Domains if your Plesk shows it, then download the file. If it doesn't, download httpdocs over FTP with explicit TLS and export your MSSQL databases. Always keep a copy off the server, and make one before every deployment.
1. What an ASP.NET backup must include
Keep your source code in your own repository too. A backup of the server holds compiled DLLs, not the code you would need to fix a bug.
2. Back up with Plesk Backup Manager
- Open Plesk.In the client area, open your hosting services, pick the Windows service and click the Plesk button.
- Find Backup Manager.In Websites & Domains, look for Backup Manager or Backup & Restore, or type "backup" into the search box at the top of Plesk.
- Back up.Choose what to include; for a full copy, select files, databases and mail. Start it and wait until it shows as finished.
- Download it.Click the backup in the list and save it to your computer, then delete old copies from the list so they don't use your disk space.
If Backup Manager isn't in your Plesk, your subscription doesn't include it. Use section 3.
3. Back up by hand (every plan)
- Files: connect with FTP on port 21 using Require explicit FTP over TLS, and download the whole
httpdocsfolder. Or, in the Plesk File Manager, add the folder's contents to a ZIP and download it. Windows hosting has no SSH or SFTP. - Databases: open Databases in Plesk and use the export or backup option for your database if one is offered. If not, ask support for a copy and name the database and date.
- Configuration: save a copy of
web.configandappsettings.jsonsomewhere private. They contain passwords, so never leave copies inhttpdocs.
4. Before every deployment
Most restores are needed because of an update, not a disaster. Before you publish a new version:
- download the current
httpdocs, or at leastbin,web.configand your views; - export the database if the update changes its structure;
- note the time, so you know which backup to go back to.

5. Getting a restore
To restore a backup you made yourself, see restoring from a Plesk backup. To restore from Domain India's weekly backups, use live chat or open a ticket with the domain, what to restore and the date you need. A restore overwrites what is there now, so download your current files first.

How do I back up my ASP.NET website in Plesk?
If your Plesk shows Backup Manager or Backup and Restore under Websites and Domains, back up files, databases and mail, then download the file. If it doesn't, download httpdocs over FTP with explicit TLS or as a ZIP from the File Manager, and export each database.

Is backing up httpdocs enough for an ASP.NET site?
No. Most ASP.NET sites keep their data in an MSSQL or MySQL database, and some keep files in App_Data or an uploads folder. Back up the databases and those folders too, and keep your source code in your own repository.
Where should I keep my backups?
Off the server: on your computer and one other place, such as an external drive or cloud storage. A backup stored only on the hosting doesn't help if the server has a problem, and it uses your disk space.
Can I use SFTP to download my site from Windows hosting?
No. Windows hosting has no SSH or SFTP. Use FTP on port 21 with explicit TLS, or the Plesk File Manager.
