How to Reset Your Plesk Password
Need to reset or change your Plesk password for your Domain India Windows hosting? This guide covers all available methods to regain access to your control panel.
Method 1: Reset via Client Portal (Recommended)
The fastest way to reset your Plesk password.
Steps
- Log in to your client portal at https://domainindia.com/support
- Navigate to Services then My Services
- Click on your Windows hosting service
- Click Change Password in the service actions area
- Enter a new password (or use the generator for a strong one)
- Click Save Changes
- Your new password is effective immediately
Tip: After resetting, test the new password by logging in directly to Plesk. Also update any saved passwords in your browser or password manager.
Method 2: Change Password Inside Plesk
If you are already logged in to Plesk:
- Click your username or the profile icon in the top-right corner
- Select Edit Profile or Change Password
- Enter your current password
- Enter and confirm your new password
- Click OK or Apply
Method 3: Use SSO to Bypass Password
If you just need access without resetting:
- Log in to your client portal
- Go to your Windows hosting service
- Click Login to Plesk for automatic SSO access
This is the best option if you are in a hurry and can update your password later.
What Is Affected by a Password Reset
When you reset your Plesk password:
- Plesk panel login — Updated immediately
- FTP main account — May use the same credentials (check your FTP settings)
What Is NOT Affected
- Email account passwords
- MSSQL and MySQL database passwords
- Additional FTP account passwords
- Your client portal password
- Windows Remote Desktop credentials (if applicable)
Locked Out of Everything?
If you cannot access the client portal either:
- Go to the portal login page at https://domainindia.com/support
- Click Forgot Password
- Enter your registered email address
- Check your email for the reset link
- Set a new portal password
- Once in the portal, reset your Plesk password using Method 1
If you no longer have access to your registered email, contact [email protected] with:
- Your full name
- Your domain name
- Your registered email address
- Any recent invoice numbers
Password Requirements
Plesk requires passwords that meet these criteria:
- Minimum 8 characters (12+ recommended)
- Mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
- At least one number
- At least one special character
- Cannot be the same as your username

- Rotate passwords regularly (every 60-90 days)
- Use unique passwords for Plesk, email, and the client portal
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication in Plesk for an extra security layer

Troubleshooting
New Password Not Working
- Wait 30 seconds after the reset before trying to log in
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Try logging in with an incognito/private window
- Ensure caps lock is off
Account Locked After Failed Attempts
Plesk's brute-force protection may temporarily lock your account after multiple failed login attempts. Wait 15 minutes and try again, or contact [email protected] to unlock your account.
