Plesk is the control panel for Domain India Windows hosting. When you open it, you see a menu down the left side and the tools for your domain in the middle. This page is a quick map of where things are, so you can find the tool you need without clicking around.

Open Plesk with the Plesk button in Hosting › My hosting in the client area. Most of your work happens under Websites & Domains, where each domain has its files, databases, hosting settings, SSL and logs. Mailboxes are under Mail. Menu names can differ slightly between Plesk versions and with your subscription's settings, so if you cannot find something, ask support.
1. Getting in
Sign in to the client area, open Hosting › My hosting, and click Plesk on your domain's row. In most cases Plesk opens already signed in. Other routes are in How to Login to Plesk Panel.
2. The left-hand menu
Plesk Obsidian, the version on Domain India Windows hosting, groups its tools in a menu on the left. On a typical hosting subscription you will see these areas:
Exactly which items appear depends on your plan and how the subscription is set up. The same tools are usually also reachable from your domain's card under Websites & Domains.
3. Websites & Domains: where most work happens
Each domain on your subscription has its own card with a set of tools. The ones you will use most:
- Hosting settings. The document root (normally
httpdocs) and which scripting support, such as ASP.NET and PHP, is switched on for the site, with the versions you can choose. - File Manager. Upload, edit and extract files in the browser. For big uploads, FTP on port 21 with explicit TLS is faster.
- Databases. Create an MSSQL or MySQL database and its user, and see the server name to use in your connection string.
- SSL/TLS Certificates. Issue the free certificate for your domain once it points at us, or install one you bought.
- Logs. Web server errors for the domain, the first place to look when a page shows a 500 error.
- Web Deploy publishing settings, where offered, to publish from Visual Studio.
- Dedicated IIS application pool, where your plan includes one (the ASP Enterprise listing does), with an option to recycle it.
4. Mail
Under Mail you create an address, set its password and mailbox options, and add forwarding or auto-replies. For mail app settings, use port 993 (IMAP) or 995 (POP3) for incoming mail and 465 with SSL/TLS for outgoing. Port 587 is not open on Windows hosting.
5. What Plesk on shared hosting does not do
A few things you might look for are not available to you on shared Windows hosting:
- No SSH and no Remote Desktop. Everything is done through Plesk, FTP or Web Deploy.
- No server-wide restarts. You cannot restart IIS or Windows services for the whole server. You can recycle your own application pool where Plesk shows that option.
- No Linux tools. Plesk on Windows uses IIS, so there are no Apache or nginx settings and no
.htaccess; URL rules go inweb.config.
If a tool you need is missing, ask support whether it can be enabled for your subscription.
Frequently asked questions
How do I open Plesk from my Domain India account?
Sign in to the client area, open Services, My Hosting, and click the Plesk button on your domain's row. In most cases Plesk opens in a new tab already signed in.
Where do I upload website files in Plesk?
Upload them to your domain's httpdocs folder, using the File Manager in Plesk or an FTP program on port 21 with explicit TLS.
Where do I create an email account in Plesk?
Open Mail in the left-hand menu and create a new email address with its password. Then set up your mail app with IMAP on 993 or POP3 on 995, and SMTP on 465 with SSL/TLS.
Where do I create an MSSQL database in Plesk?
Open Databases, from the left-hand menu or your domain's card under Websites and Domains, add a database of the Microsoft SQL Server type and create its user. Plesk shows the server name to use in your connection string.
Why can't I find a menu item mentioned in a guide?
Menu names differ slightly between Plesk versions and with your plan's settings. Look on your domain's card under Websites and Domains, and if the tool is still missing, ask support.
