The Domain India Knowledge Base is our free library of guides for domains, hosting, email, billing and development. It has more than a thousand published articles, from "how do I log in to cPanel" to deploying an app from GitHub. This page shows how the library is organised, how to find the right article quickly, and what to do when an article doesn't answer your question.
Open the Knowledge Base at /support/kb, type two or three keywords or the exact error message into the search box, and pick from the suggestions as you type. You can also browse by topic, from Getting Started to Developer Tools. Each article starts with a short Key takeaways box and a table of contents. If you are still stuck, open a support ticket or use 24/7 live chat.
1. What you will find
The library is grouped into topics that match our products and the jobs people do with them:
A large Developer Tools section covers Git deployment, .htaccess, PHP, Node.js, Python, Laravel, WordPress, security, CI/CD and more.
2. Search: the fastest way in
- Go to the Knowledge Base.Open /support/kb, or choose Support › Knowledge Base in the site menu.
- Type a few keywords.Suggestions appear as you type. Pick one to open the article, or press Enter to see all results.
- Refine if needed.If the first results aren't right, try another word for the same thing, such as "FTP" instead of "upload".
Search tips that work well:
- Use short, specific terms. "MX records" works better than "how do I set up my MX records for my new domain".
- Paste the error message. Search for the key part of the error, such as
500 Internal Server Errorordisabled for security reasons. - Include the product name. Add "cPanel", "DirectAdmin", "Plesk" or "VPS" when the steps depend on it.
3. Browse by topic
When you don't know the right word to search for, browse instead. Choose a topic on the Knowledge Base home page, then a sub-topic, to see every article in it. This is also a good way to learn a product from the start, for example by reading the cPanel section from "Plans & Getting Started" onwards.
4. How an article is laid out
Most of our guides follow the same pattern, so you can find what you need without reading everything:
| Part | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Key takeaways | A short answer at the top. Often this is all you need. |
| Table of contents | Jump straight to the section you want. |
| Numbered steps | The exact clicks or commands, in order. |
| Tables and callouts | Side-by-side comparisons, warnings and tips. |
| Frequently asked questions | Quick answers to related questions. |
| Related articles | Other guides on the same topic, at the end of the page. |
Guides that depend on your hosting type say so, for example when a step differs between cPanel and DirectAdmin. Check that you are following the steps for your own control panel.
At the end of each article you can answer Was this article helpful? with Yes or No. Your answer helps us decide which guides to improve next.
5. When the Knowledge Base isn't enough
Some questions need someone to look at your account. Contact support when:
- the steps don't match what you see in your control panel;
- the fix needs a change only we can make, such as enabling jailed SSH on your hosting account;
- the problem is about a specific invoice, order or domain.
Support is available by 24/7 live chat and by ticket, and tickets get a first response within 15 minutes; solving the issue can take longer, depending on what it is. There is no phone support. Open a ticket from your client area at /client/support/new, or at /support/ticket if you are not signed in, and follow its progress at /support/ticket/track.
To get a faster answer, include:
- the domain or service the problem is about;
- the exact error message, or a screenshot;
- what you were doing and what you have already tried, including the article you followed.
Never send a password in a ticket or chat. For more on how tickets work, read What is a support ticket system.
