Adding and Removing Business Email Mailboxes

Business Email is billed per mailbox, from a single mailbox, at ₹60 per mailbox per month. You manage the mailboxes yourself from the admin console.

Where to do it

Sign in at https://mail.yourdomain.com:8443/ and open `/domain-admin` from the menu. Only the domain administrator sees this view.

Creating a mailbox

  1. Open the admin console.
  2. Choose to add a mailbox.
  3. Enter the local part — the bit before the @. The domain is fixed to yours.
  4. Set a password, and give it to the person who will use it.

The mailbox works immediately. There is no provisioning delay and no ticket to raise.

Removing a mailbox

Removing a mailbox from the admin console permanently deletes its contents. Mail, calendar entries and contacts in that mailbox are gone.

Before you remove one:

  • Have the user export anything they need, or
  • Set up forwarding to a colleague first, or
  • Ask us to export it — this is a manual service, so allow time.

There is no undelete and no per-mailbox restore. This is worth reading twice before you remove a departing employee's mailbox.

🔴 Changing how many mailboxes you are paying for

This is the part that catches people out, and we would rather set the expectation correctly.

Within your purchased seat count, you are entirely self-service. If you bought five mailboxes and are using three, you can create the other two yourself, right now.

Increasing your seat count is not yet self-service. If you bought five and need a sixth, the admin console cannot raise the limit — open a support ticket and we will do it and adjust your billing. We are aware this should be self-service and it is on the roadmap; today it is a ticket.

The same applies to reducing your seat count.

What a "mailbox" means for billing

One mailbox is one address you can sign into and receive mail at.

Aliases and forwarders are not mailboxes and are not billed as such. If you want sales@ and info@ both delivered into one person's inbox, that is one mailbox with two aliases — one seat, not three.

Use aliases for role addresses wherever you can. It is the single easiest way to keep the bill down.

Storage

There is no per-mailbox storage quota to configure or monitor, and no size tier to choose. We do not sell "5 GB" or "25 GB" mailboxes, so there is nothing for you to manage and nothing to run out of unexpectedly.

If your usage becomes genuinely unusual we will contact you rather than silently stop delivering your mail.

Passwords

The domain administrator can reset any mailbox password from the admin console. A user who has forgotten their password should ask you rather than us — it is faster, and we cannot verify a mailbox user's identity the way you can.

Users can generate per-device app passwords for their phone and mail client. Those can be revoked individually without changing the main password.
