Real photos of your shop, team and work make a website feel trustworthy. The AI Website Builder gives you several ways to add pictures: upload your own, generate them with AI, use stock photos on the higher plans, or simply drop a photo into the chat. This guide shows where each option is, the file limits, and what to do about video.
Most images live in the editor's Design tab: Hero for the top of your homepage and Media for your logo, About image, gallery and before-and-after photos. Upload PNG, JPG or WEBP files (hero and chat photos under 3 MB, logos under 1 MB), or generate images with AI on a paid plan. You can also attach up to 3 photos to a chat message and tell the assistant where to put them. The editor has no video upload; link your YouTube channel instead.

2. Upload your own photos
Uploading your own photos and logo is free on every plan, including the free plan.
- Open your site.Go to AI Website Builder in the client area and open your site.
- Open Design, then Hero or Media.Pick the spot from the table above.
- Upload.Click the upload button for that spot and choose a PNG, JPG or WEBP file.
- Check the preview.The photo appears in the live preview straight away.
- Republishif your site is live, so visitors see the new photo.
Faster option: drop photos into the chat. In the Chat tab, click Attach a photo (or paste or drop an image into the message box). You can attach up to 3 photos at a time, each under 3 MB. Then tell the assistant where they go, for example "use it as the hero", or "put these in the gallery".
3. Get the best from your photos
- Use real photos where you can. Your shop, team, products and finished work convince visitors more than any stock image.
- Shoot in landscape for the hero. A wide photo fills the top of the page best, and text stays readable over it thanks to an overlay.
- Keep files small. Stay under the limits above. A phone photo resized to about 2000 pixels wide is plenty. The builder then makes smaller versions for each screen size, so pages load quickly on mobile data.
- Use a wide logo. A rectangular logo suits the site header. Logo Studio lets you crop and frame it, and show your logo alone or next to your business name.
- Match your before-and-after pairs. Take both photos from the same angle so the drag-to-compare slider lines up. You can add a label, such as "Kitchen remodel".
4. Generate images and logos with AI
On paid plans the builder can create images for you, which helps when you don't have professional photos yet.
- AI images: click Generate with AI or Generate image beside the hero, About image, gallery, slideshow or blog photo, or ask in the chat, for example "generate a new hero photo". A hero image can take around 15 seconds.
- AI logos: in Logo Studio, choose Icon only or Full logo (with name), pick a style, add an optional hint such as "a coffee cup, warm earthy colours", and generate a set of 4 designs. Tap the one you like to use it. AI lettering can occasionally come out wrong; just generate again.
- Quick lettering logo: Logo Studio can also make an instant logo from your initials (Badge, Monogram or Wordmark), with no waiting.
AI images and logo batches have monthly allowances that free up on a rolling 30-day basis. According to the plan details, AI images are 10 a month on Starter, 30 on Pro and 60 on Business; logo batches (4 designs each) are 3, 6 and 10.
Searching real stock photos is included from the Pro plan. Your own uploads and AI-generated images work on every paid plan, and uploads work on the free plan too.
5. Video
The AI Website Builder editor doesn't have a video upload or a video block that we could confirm. For now:
- add your YouTube channel under Grow → Social links, so it shows in your footer;
- use a strong hero slideshow of photos for movement at the top of the page.
